Transcatheter Heart ValveSelect high risk patients with severe aortic stenosis might not be optimal candidates for conventional valve replacement. These patients could benefit from a transcatheter valve replacement procedure that can be done without cardiopulmonary bypass, and has the potential to shorten recovery times.
Both percutaneous transfemoral and minimally invasive surgical transapical procedures have been developed through close collaboration between cardiac surgeons and interventional cardiologists.
